Spoken Word 101

Wednesday Evenings, August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and Saturday September 9 at ID Studio Theater

This summer BronxArtSpace and ID Studio will be hosting Spoken Word workshops led by spoken-word artist Bobby Gonzalez. Bobby Gonzalez is a nationally known multicultural motivational speaker, storyteller and poet. Born and raised in the South Bronx, he grew up in a bi-cultural environment. Bobby draws on his Native American and Latino roots to offer a unique repertoire of discourses, readings and performances that celebrates his indigenous heritage.

Spoken Word 101 will explore the differences between performances and other types of poetry. Participants will have the opportunity to write and preform original poetry. They will find their own style and delivery under the guidance of Bobby Gonzalez.
